  Wellington Sun 15 August 2010  7.30pm  St Mary of the Angels, Boulcott St, Wellington   Baroque Voices, directed by Pepe Becker, with Academia Sanctae Mariae, led by Gregory Squire, presents a concert performance of Claudio Monteverdi's famous 1610 Vespers, in the 400th Anniversary Year since the work was first heard in Venice; conducted by Robert Oliver.   Wellington * Sun 30 May 2010   7.30pm  St Mary of the Angels, Boulcott St, Wellington     "Alleluia: a newё work!": BV's now annual concert of Medieval European & Contemporary NZ music for a capella voices; this time with the added flavours of didgeridoo & taonga puoro (Henare Walmsley), flute (Bridget Douglas), recorder (Brendan O'Donnell) & hurdy-gurdy (Dimitrios Theodoridis); and with new works by Gillian Whitehead, Jason Kaminski, Ross Carey, Mark Smythe, Carol Shortis & Pepe Becker ; juxtaposed with innovative Medieval works by Hildegard, Machaut, Dufay & others. An exciting concert, the only one of its kind in the world and not to be missed - come along to support NZ music and musicians!

Wellington Mon 15 June 2009 7pm for 7.30pm concert Wellington High School Riley Centre, cnr Taranaki & Wallace Sts "La Musica Antica": a fundraising concert of 16th & 17th Century Italian & English songs and instrumental music by Monteverdi, Caccini, Frescobaldi, Wilbye, Farmer, Morley & others... Featuring members of BV: Pepe Becker, Jane McKinlay, Philip Roderick, David Morriss, with guest instrumentalists: Donald Nicolson (harpsichord), Robert Oliver (bass viol) & Peter Reid (cornetto). Refreshments, etc, from 7.00pm; concert starts at 7.30pm. All proceeds go to the Wellington High School Italy Exchange trip - 20 WHS students travelling to Italy to immerse themselves in Italian culture for 3 weeks and be ambassadors for NZ - in September / October 2009.
